Lockie and Egg were supposed to have a meeting at Lockie’s house about cleaning the filthy river. Lockie was also supposed to help his mother with putting up a sign, and help Egg with getting some extra chairs. He also had to write for the speech that he was going to attend to.
But, it didn’t go as planned. The only thing he could think of was Dot, so he forgot to do all those other things. It ended up with Lockie’s mother tried to but up the sign herself, but almost fainted from climbing the chair. And Egg had to bring the chairs by himself, but that failed, and most of the chairs broke during the way thanks to some bully. Egg also had to do the speech, even though he didn’t know what to say.
Lockie didn’t do any of those things, and felt like a bad dog.
